August Burns Red Berkeley Concert reviews
Doobies were as good as ever
The Doobies put on one of their best concerts ever, with a focus on the three newest members on sax, bass, and keyboards who were all first rate or better than the 1973 group. Their harmony, outstanding and a key to the August Burns Red success, was vocally on par with The Stones and U2. A classic concert without all the distracting visual effects, for adults who like music with understandable lyrics. I liked most the 8-minute version of Long Train Runnin' and "Jesus is Just Alright With Me." Not for kids who like the side show, this concert was.
